Finnsheep grazing in nature reserve Lenholm
Last June, on Midsummer’s day, we went for a picnic on the nearby nature reserve. A flock of finnsheep grazed near us, a flock of cattle further away. Some of the sheep got really curious and came quite close.
On Monday, my dog Namu ran away from me and didn’t return at once. I went after her to see what kept her. There she was, feasting on an animal’s bowel. I quickly looked at what seemed to be the remains of two animals, either sheep or roe. I had to struggle to get the dog away from spoiling the evidence.
It turned out, that someone had stolen two sheep from the nature reserve, taken them to this place very close to my home, and taken the guts out there. A white plastic bucket had been left behind. The owner was informed, and the police is investigating the case. Now that the guts have been taken away, Namu is allowed to take whatever she can find. Today she buried a part, yesterday she snacked on a foot.
I’m really sorry for this and my thoughts are with the owner. But Namu found out a crime!
